| Description: | Contact Person Helen Brett Phone# 630 241-9865 SHOW INFORMATION * The New Orleans Gift & Jewelry Show is a cash and carry show as well as order writing. * This southern market was established in 1949 and has continuously attracted 20,000 Buyers and has 750 Booths. * The New Orleans Gift & Jewelry Show, January 23-26, 2010, is held at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center, 900 Convention Center Blvd., Halls I - J, New Orleans, Louisiana. * There is no admission fee for Qualified Buyers. BUYER SHOW REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS A Qualified Buyer must present the following documentation at Buyer Registration: A QUALIFIED BUYER IS A VERIFIABLE BUSINESS STORE OWNER, THE OWNERS SPOUSE, OR A PAID EMPLOYEE. Employees spouses DO NOT qualify. REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION - the following documentation must be presented when attending the show if you do not own a valid Helen Brett Gold Buyer Card. All items listed in this section are REQUIRED. 1. Federal Tax ID Number. If a Federal Tax ID number cannot be provided, a copy of a current Sales Tax payment form showing owners social security number will be accepted in lieu of the FTID. 2. Copy of a "current" Retail Sales Tax License, Business License or Occupational License and the business MUST BE RELATED TO THE INDUSTRY OF THE SHOW. Business owners MUST provide proof of ownership when the Business/Occupation License does not clarify this information. 3. For EMPLOYEES (NOT OWNERS) - Employees must provide a copy of a "current" cancelled payroll check (both front and back or the copy of cancelled check images provided by your business bank) or the check stub from a "current" direct deposit. In addition to the cancelled check, an employee must also provide the other required documents. 4. Government issued photo ID - i.e. a drivers license, state identification card, or a passport. IF IT IS NOT CLEAR THAT THE BUSINESS IS RELATED TO THE INDUSTRY, YOU MUST BE ABLE TO PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING "ADDITIONAL" DOCUMENTATION: 1. Three (3) recent invoices - quantity orders in excess of $100.00 each. These invoices must be from suppliers, for product that is related to the industry. 2. A photo of your store display area located in your place of business. COSMETOLOGIST, OWNERS OR EMPLOYEES OF BEAUTY SALONS, NAIL SALONS OR SPAS MUST PROVIDE ALL OF THE ABOVE REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION. However, if you "rent" a chair, booth, or space, you must ALSO provide a copy of your rent receipt. SCHOOL, CHURCH OR HOSPITAL EMPLOYEES/VOLUNTEERS must provide all of the following documentation: 1. A letter (on your business letterhead), signed by the principal/dean/pastor/hospital administrator, indicating the names of each person requesting to attend a show. 2. A current fundraiser flyer or advertisement of sale or shop. 3. Three (3) recent invoices or receipts - quantity orders in excess of $100.00 each. These invoices must be from suppliers related to the industry. MARY KAY, AVON, MERLE NORMAN AND OTHER HOME DEMONSTRATION COMPANY REPRESENTATIVES must provide the following documentation. 1. Beauty consultant business card for the company you are a sales representative of. 2. Three (3) invoices for merchandise purchased to sell. 3. A business receipt used for customers purchases. SPOUSES A spouse of ONLY THE "BUSINESS OWNER" may attend as a qualified buyer. The spouse of an employee or volunteer is NOT A QUALIFIED BUYER and may not register at a show as a buyer but, may attend as a buyers "guest" for a guest fee of $15.00. No one under 16 years of age is permitted entrance to Helen Brett markets. Proof of age is required on show site with a Government issued photo ID. Q & As Can I bring a guest? Yes, any qualified buyer may bring one guest per day for a $15.00 guest fee. If I am the spouse of a business owner, can I attend? Yes, you may attend as a qualified buyer with appropriate documentation; see "Required Documentation" above. Employees spouses DO NOT qualify. Can more than one (1) employee or owner attend? Yes, as of August 6, 2001, up to six (6) people from a business (including owner) may attend at one time and still bring one guest each. Can a child attend with me? No person under 16 years of age is permitted. Proof of age is required. Can I pre-register or register online? No, registration is held on show-site. See Registration Hours for schedule. Does the owner have to be present for employees to attend? No, employees are qualified buyers and must present the required documentation at registration. (See Required Documentation above.) Can I bring a wheeled bag or piece of wheeled luggage for my packages? Wheeled bags, wheeled luggage, and strollers are STRICTLY PROHIBITED FROM THE SHOW FLOOR. An area for you to check your cart/stroller or luggage is available. Im on file - do I need to bring my documents every time? Yes, full documentation is required every time you attend. A Helen Brett Gold Buyer Card may be purchased for your convenience. Gold Buyer Card membership will provide entrance to all Helen Brett Markets across the country and documentation is only required at time of purchase and upon renewal every two (2) years. You will find purses,clothes,jewelry,pewter serving pieces and imported paintings on canvas and some framed. There is a variety of or=ther irems with a special section dedicated to fine jewelry. | |
