| Description | Oak Alley Plantation will hold its 5th Annual Fall Arts & Crafts Festival on Saturday, October 16 and Sunday, October 17, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. More than 150 artists and craft vendors from throughout the country will be on hand featuring original and handmade creations such as jewelry, furniture, clothing, home accessories, paintings and prints, pottery, wooden crafts, toys and much more! As always, there will be a delicious selection of great food like fried eggplant with crawfish sauce, smoked grillade po-boys, seafood pasta and plenty of sweets. Admission proceeds from the festival will be used for the preservation, upkeep and maintenance of Oak Alley Plantation, a National Historic Landmark, which is owned and operated by a private, non-profit foundation. Admission for the festival (tours of the mansion not included) is as follows: $5.00 ..... 13 years & over $2.00 ..... 6 to 12 years (tours of the mansion not included)there is no charge for kids 5 yrs. & under. | We have made it our mission to improve the show. In doing so, we have made quite a few changes that will prove advantageous for our vendors, festival-goers and Oak Alley Foundation. First, each vendor is limited to displaying/selling items from no more than two categories to eliminate cluttered and unorganized booths. For example, a vendor may wish to exhibit garden art and furniture, but not more than that. We found that some vendors were simply trying to cram too many different items into one booth. Second, we are committed to eliminating buy/sell items from the show! Our application states that only handcrafted, original items are allowed to be sold by exhibitors. More specifically, the items must be hand-made by the exhibitor, themselves! All vendors photos will be juried by a knowledgeable, independent jury committee. During the Festival, our secret shoppers will be out in full-force with approved vendors applications in hand. Anyone attempting to sell items that are not handcrafted or that were not listed and approved from the original application will be required to remove the items from the booth. Non-compliance in this important effort will exclude the vendor from participation in future events at Oak Alley, and possibly face removal from the current show. Third, any booth selling artwork, framed or unframed, will be required to have the artist present in the booth. This is meant to eliminate the frame shops from bringing in generic prints. As always, vendors are not allowed to drive vehicles on the Festival grounds. We again will have our Grounds Crew ready to help cart (not load and unload) your items to your booth during set-up. Please do not abuse this service! For tear-down, a haul-out fee of $15.00 per booth will be collected at the end of the show. More information will be provided in future mailings to accepted vendors. The Festival is held on the grounds of the National Historic Landmark property of Oak Alley Plantation in Vacherie, LA. Located just 1 hour from New Orleans or Baton Rouge, we are located 14 miles off Interstate 10 on the Great River Road. Booth Space Exhibit spaces are 15 x 15. Exhibitors MUST confine themselves, their wares and equipment to their assigned space. No space may be shared, but one exhibitor may purchase two spaces or a 5 extension (where available). Demonstrations are encouraged but must be confined within booth space. Every effort will be made to honor specific location requests. However, current vendors are given first right-of-refusal on their current spaces through June 1. Extensions Certain booth spaces are allowed a 5 extension to the rear of the booth for an additional cost of $65.00 per booth. This request and payment must be made at time of application. If unable to honor your request, you will receive a refund. Under no circumstances can an extension be added the weekend of the show. Fees The charge for a booth is 200.00. No commission is charged on sales. The booth fee is returned if your application is not accepted. An accepted application is a commitment to the show and no refund will be made for cancellations (no exceptions). No fee will be refunded due to inclement weather. Subletting of booth space is not allowed. Electricity Electricity is available for an additional charge. Vendors must provide their own 100 ft. extension cord. Sharing electricity is prohibited. No generators or open flames are allowed on Festival grounds. Prices (per booth) are as follows: A $30.00 for 1-110 volt outlet (1 plug-in) B $40.00 for 1 - 110 volt duplex (2 plug-ins) C $40.00 for 1-220 volt outlet Vendors using more amperage than allocated (causing the breaker to trip) will be required to purchase additional electricity. Deadline: December 31, 2006 Applications must be postmarked by December 31, 2006. Late applications will only be considered if category is not full, with final approval from the jury committee. All applicants not accepted by the jury committee will receive a full refund. Motor-Home Accommodations Vendors staying in self-contained motor-homes are welcome to park near Festival grounds at no charge. Exact locations are determined by Oak Alley staff. Motor-home space is limited and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Those needing electricity (water hook-ups not available) may stay for $25.00 per night. Vendors needing electricity for their motor-home must bring at least one 100 ft. extension cord. | |

| Directions from New Orleans to Oak Alley Plantation Follow the yellow brick road: Take Interstate 10 (West) to Interstate 310 (South) Exit #220 - for Boutte. Continue on Interstate 310 across the Destrehan/Luling Bridge to exit #10 - for Donaldsonville, Highway 3127. Travel twenty-three (23) miles on Highway 3127 to major intersection with Highway 20. Turn right on Highway 20, travel three (3) miles to Highway 18, turn left and travel three (3) miles to Oak Alley Plantation. Or, alternately: Take Interstate 10 (West) to the Gramercy Exit #194. Turn left on Highway 641 (South). Follow Highway 641 (South), which will turn into Highway 3213. Continue on Highway 3213 over the Veterans Memorial Bridge (also known as Gramercy/Wallace Bridge). Directions from Baton Rouge to Oak Alley Plantation Take Interstate 10 (East) to the Lutcher/Mississippi River Bridge exit #194. Turn right on Highway 641 (South). Follow Highway 641 (South), which will turn into Highway 3213. Continue on Highway 3213 over the Veterans Memorial Bridge (also known as Gramercy/Wallace Bridge).
