Description:

From Poche Plantation Fall Arts and Crafts Show Website:

GIVING BACK TO ST JAMES PARISH... There is nothing nicer than a spring or fall day in Saint James Parish, Louisiana. In days past, folks traveled from far and wide to enjoy a weekend strolling the grounds of plantations, dining on local cuisine and shopping for handmade treasures from across the south. St. James Parish is proud to host an arts and craft show on the east back of the Mighty Mississippi River, centrally located between New Orleans and Baton Rouge!

Top Arts and Crafts vendors from across the country will be showing their works at the historic 1870's Poche Plantation located in the heart of Plantation Country, amid sugar cane fields and majestic oaks, along famous River Road. The Nationally Registered Historic antebellum home, rooted in St. James Parish, is proud to be a part of an event that will "Give Back to St. James" as all proceeds from the event will benefit various charities and organizations throughout the communities of St. James Parish.

In April 2014, the Economic Development Board passed a resolution in support of the first show, giving their praise and approval for the charitable event which debuted on the weekend of Oct. 25th and 26th, 2014. What a success! A board of trustees, made up of citizens from St. James Parish, was appointed to handle all funds and the list of experienced volunteers continues to grow for the next event, as everyone is dedicated to making our shows a success for vendors, visitors and the parish.

Vendors, planning to again show their Arts and Crafts as they have done year after year, are praising this very accessible location, which is centered equally for a show that will attract crowds from both Historic New Orleans and our State's Capitol, Baton Rouge, stating the location is a major advantage and would have produced record breaking attendance in 2015 except the rain came. We are anticipating that 2016 will be the year for the record breaking crowd. They are excited about the media coverage, including televisions stations in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Lafayette as well as advertising on social media and newspapers across the state!
