So, what is this Louisiana Steampunk Festival, you ask?

The Louisiana Steampunk Festival is part costume play, science & county fair, and part something entirely new. The Louisiana Steampunk Festival is an all-ages festival hosted by Cite des Arts to showcase and celebrate science fiction, technology, education, art, and mathematics. The Louisiana Steampunk Festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday, November 4 & 5, 2017 in Downtown Lafayette, LA along Vine Street and in Cite' des Arts (109 Vine St).

Steampunk celebrates 19th century science fiction fun in the modern world. STEAMPUNKERS are diverse innovators many come and make and showcase their own music, stories, art, costumes and creative 19th century paraphernalia. Professional performers, artists, designers, costumers, and craftsmen have made impressive presentations and showcases of their work through interactive panel discussions, workshops and contests.
